PROJECT MUSE

Motion, Animation, Branding

Project MUSE is a motion and animation festival, a 24-hour event taking over 75 wayfinding screens (IKE Kiosks) in Houston.

In practice, the kiosk’s camera would record every time it detects a person in motion. Passers-by will view themself onscreen as colorful silhouettes, met with playful commands such as “Jump!” “Spin around!” “Do a cartwheel!” “Kiss your lover!” The festival concept encourages motion, interaction with the screen, connecting with others, generating laughter, creating an environment of ease and positivity on the streets of Houston.

Furthermore, clips are archived as Project MUSE, an online creative publication calling motion designers and animators to generate a motion design system for interactive use. Each biannual Project MUSE event would showcase these submitted visual experiments.
